Our Vision
Together, we aim, believe and achieve.
At Cudham Church of England Primary School we want the very best for the children in our care so they flourish in our Christian community and realise their potential. We strive to provide an enriching environment where each child will be happy, thrive and succeed.
‘Together we are one’ (Ryan Year 6). Community is a central feature of our school, all children are valued and welcomed into our Christian community. Love and friendship are core virtues that bind our community together. The Bible is rich in teachings about this. ‘God is love, and those who live in love, live in God’ John 4:16, the first disciples sought to live in community. ‘So in Christ, we, though many, form one body…’ Romans 12:5 and ‘So of all virtues, put on love, which binds all together in perfect unity’. Colossians 3:14.
‘We aim to be the best we can’ (Renee Year 6). We seek to ensure that all pupils are given the opportunities to flourish at school. We nurture each child so that they can grow into the best they can be. We aim to have a broad and deep curriculum, supported by excellent teaching to enable this. We are very blessed, in Downe, to be surrounded by such wonderful landscapes and environment- one that had inspired Darwin and we try to utilise this inspiration fully for our children.
‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28
‘We believe we can do it’ (Parise Year 5). Faith is of vital importance in our Church school, but it is not solely about faith in God. We want children to believe in themselves and others, so that together we can support, learn and grow as unique creations. We seek answers, we encourage pupils to observe and appreciate their natural environment, just like Darwin did, and to develop enquiring and curious minds that seek to answer the many questions of life.
Spirituality statement
As a Church of England Trust, we teach an awareness that is greater than the immediate and an appreciation of the awe and wonder of God’s love. We value the beauty and diversity of creation and all humanity, whilst courageously and prayerfully addressing big questions and small details. We develop spirituality which inspires us to work with our communities to live life in all its fullness, reflect God's love and support our mission of 'Life - Transforming - Learning.'
